Roger D'Hondt 1970

New Reform, kunstcentrum voor performance, concrete poëzie, video, film, theater, experimentele muziek en conceptuele werken, heeft in Aalst bestaan van 1970 tot 1979. Het zette onder de leiding van Roger D'Hondt, de kunst op zijn kop, was een motor in de ontwikkeling van nieuwe creatieve vormen die onder een klassiek jargon "kunst" worden genoemd. Tijdens een groots opgezette manifestatie (1988), met als speerpunt het Stedelijk Museum van Aalst, werd teruggeblikt in het verleden en de archieven van New Reform geopend. Naar aanleiding hiervan publiceerden de organisatoren een boek met een 'Anthologie' van Roger D'Hondt, een volledig overzicht van alle manifestaties en een uitgebreide keuze fotomateriaal. Het boek (210x275 mm en 80 blz.) is ontworpen door de kunstenaars Annemie Van Kerckhoven en Danny Devos. New Reform geniet inmiddels erkenning als archiefbank. Er zijn zo'n 2.500 dossiers van kunstenaars en instellingen in opgenomen die dezelfde doelstellingen nastreven als New Reform. Het archief is momenteel in privé bezit van Roger D'Hondt en Marie-Hélène Van Audenhove 

New Reform, an art centre for performance art, concrete poetry, video, film, theatre, experimental music and conceptual works, existed in Aalst (Belgium) from 1970 till 1979. This art centre, under the direction of Roger D'Hondt, turnet art upside down and was a driving force in the development of new creative forms which can be called 'art' in e traditional sense. During a large-scale exhibition (1988), with the Municipal Museum Oud-Hospitaal of Aalst as spearhead of the events, the past was reviewed and the archives of New Reform were re-opened. As a result of this, the organisers have published a book (210x275 mm 80 pages) with an 'Anthology' by Roger D'Hondt, including a complete survey of all events and a wide range of photographic material. The artists Annemie Van Kerckhoven and Danny Devos were responsible for the layout and design of the publication. New Reform is meanwhile recognised as archives bank. It contains about 2.500 files of artists and institutions having the same aims as New Reform. The archive is on the moment in private property of Roger D'Hondt and Marie-Hélène Van Audenhove.

A l'époque, New Reform, sous la direction de Roger D'Hondt, boulversera littéralement la tradition artistique et apparut comme un des centres novateurs de nouvelles formes d'art. Lors d'une manifestation d'envergure (1988), dont le principal pole d'attraction se situe au Musée Municipal d'Aalst, le comité d'initiative vous propose uns rétrospective de New Reform. A l'occasion de cette exposition, les organisateurs ont publié un catalogue (210x275 mm 80 pages), réalisé par les artistes Annemie Van Kerckhoven et Danny Devos, comportant une 'Anthologie' de Roger D'Hondt, une répertoire complet de toutes les manifestations, et un choix exhaustif d'illustrations. New Reform est entretemps reconnu comme banque d'archives. Elle comporte quelques 2.500 dossiers d'artistes et d'institutions qui ont les mêmes objectives que New Reform. L'archive est actuellement en possession privée de Roger D'Hondt et Marie-Hélène Van Audenhove
